I'm pretty sure that I've picked a florist for my wedding. The man that I talked to on Saturday was just great. He's very nice, and seems to take a personal interest in things. You can tell he loves his job, and that it's not just another day at the shop for him. I'm just waiting for him to write me up a proposal now. I've also gotten a really pretty picture of a wedding cake that I want to model my cake off of. If I get a chance, I'll scan the picture and put it on here.
I've looked around for supplies for the invitations. I found a place where I can buy black envelopes from. I'm going to write the addresses on them in gold pen. I'll get the return envelopes in white though so that the guests have no problems addressing them. I've also figured up how much ribbon, cardstock, and tags I'm going to need to put them together so I'm going to be supply buying this weekend. I figure that gives me about four months to put them together.
Jason and I still have to go over the list of places to go on our honeymoon. I also have to get a social security card and start the process on getting our passports.
Jason's sister is due to have her baby any day now. We're all very excited. I still have a row to add to her baby blanket though so I hope that she can hold out another day!
School's still going pretty well. I wish I hadn't taken the math class on Saturday, but that's the only day that worked with my schedule.
Other than that, it's just been more of the same.
I've been neglecting this blog again, I've been way too busy for my own good. School started three weeks ago. I'm taking a yoga class and intermediate algebra this semester. So far it hasn't been so bad, although I don't see why I need two books and about an hour and a half of reading a week for a yoga class. The math class is going okay, I still seem to understand it a lot better than I did when we learned it in high school.
I've also had a lot of wedding appointments lately. I picked a cake a few weeks ago. We're doing one layer of yellow cake with strawberry filling and two layers (one's the layer we keep for our anniversary) of chocolate with strawberry filling. The layers will be square and there'll be a burgundy or black ribbon around the bottom of each layer. I haven't decided which color yet. Maybe I'll do both. I want to have flowers and a bow on the top of the cake instead of a cake topper. I also picked a veil the other day. It's as long as the train on my dress and has little sequins and things around the edge. It's very pretty, and goes with my dress really well. I went to one flower appointment on Monday, but I still have a few more to go to. The guy I talked to on Monday gave me a really good idea for decorating the reception hall. I'm going to pick a few of my favorite pictures from when I was a kid, and get Jason's mom pick a few of her favorite pictures of Jason when he was a kid and a few of his father. I'm going to make them black and white and print them out in different sizes. Then I can put them in matching picture frames and sit them all over the place at Holly Hills. I thought it was a really good idea so now all I have to do is remember to call Jason's mom. I've also been in touch with a travel agent and she's getting me some prices for a few different resorts so hopefully I'll be able to make a decision about that soon. Jason still has to send away that paper for the pre-marital classes, and I haven't been able to get a hold of the flutist for the ceremony yet. Apparently she doesn't get home until late at night and by then I'm already asleep so it's been a bit difficult.
Other than that it's just been a lot of same old same old. Football season's starting so Jason's going to be at the games every other Sunday or so because of his season tickets. Hopefully the Redskins will win more games this year than they did last year so that he's not grumpy all season. Fall's my favorite time of the year, so I've been enjoying the cooler mornings and waiting patiently for the smell that comes with fall. It's that clean, crisp smell in the air that I love the best. I'm looking forward to apple cider, Halloween, and colorful leaves.
What makes your best friend so special?

My best friend has been there for me since middle school. She's never afraid to tell me if I'm doing something wrong, which is stupendous because a friend isn't really a friend if they aren't willing to let you know when you're screwing up. Keri always knows how to make me laugh even when I'm crying.
So, I had some problems trying to register for my classes but I finially got it straightened out. I'm taking my last algebra class, and a yoga class this semester. I had to take the math class on Saturday so it wouldn't interfere with my work schedule, so I'm going to have to be careful about when I schedule wedding appointments from now on, but I think it'll be just fine. I applied for my student loan a little late, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it will be ready before classes start next Saturday so that I can buy my books.
Wedding wise, I'm going on some appointments to look at bridesmaids dresses tomorrow. I'll take plenty of pictures, and hopefully I'll remember to post them on here. I'm probably going to need input because I can be very indecisive. I have a couple of dresses in mind, and know at least what kind of shape I want. I'm taking my sisters, my mom, and my grandma with me. My maid of honor is supposed to meet me at the second appointment. I accidentially told her the wrong date and so she couldn't get off work for this Saturday... she has off next Saturday though (I smacked myself a good one on the forehead when I realized I gave her the wrong date). Also, my fiance and I have been looking at a place reccommended to me by one of my friends on here for the honeymoon. It looks really nice, and the price is right so I think we're going to go there. It's called The Moon Palace, and it's in Cancun, so we have to get going on the paperwork for our passports. I don't know if he's sent off the money for the pre-marital classes yet... I keep forgetting to ask him. I have to call my step-mom and see when she wants to start scheduling appointments for flowers and cake. Jason says he's not going to eat the cake, because he doesn't like regular icing. He just doesn't seem to understand why we can't use red velvet cake icing... (the thought of my cake layers sliding off each other and winding up on the floor occurs to me). So he won't be coming on the cake tasting appointments with me, which is kind of a bummer because I thought that would be fun to do together. I'm trying to get a hold of the flutist so that I can book her for the wedding. My grandmother called me to let me know she called today, so I'm going to call her back tonight and book her.
Work is going well. I'm at a slow point right now. My manager left for the day, but she has some people gathering work for me to do and I'm just waiting for them to get it to me.
My fiance's sister's baby shower is this Sunday. I've been making her a blanket, but there were some problems with it so I had to start a new one. That's not finished yet so I guess I'll just get her one of the smaller things she's registered for and let her know the blanket will be here before the baby is... hopefully.
So, after this horrible summer, things seem to be getting back to normal. I hope things stay this way.

What celebrity do you most often get told you resemble?

I get Ashley Judd a lot. I think it's because my eyebrows are shaped similar to hers.
I want to futher apologize for my cursing in my last message. I don't usually curse that much and I'm thinking about editing it out.
Anywho, David's memorial is on Saturday. My fiance was nice enough to cancel a trip to his mother's so that he could go with me. He knows I don't want to do it alone.
My sister needed some clothes for her senior picture, so I took her to Gap on Sunday to find something nice. I got her a white button up shirt, a grey sweater, and a purple tank top to wear under them. I also bought her a pair of black pants to go with them. I bought me a new hat (which I think is adorable, but my fiance doesn't agree with me D:), and a pair of blue jean capris (size 8!!! I haven't seen a single digit size in a long time, those sculpting classes must be paying off!!!). It worked for shopping therapy, I was definately in a better mood when I got home. All this stress has taken a toll on me this summer, it was nice to get a day out shopping.
I was reading a blog on here Saturday about anysoldier.com. I went on there and found some soldiers who just wanted junk food (little debbie snack cakes and slim jims in particular), so I went to the grocery store with my fiance Sunday and got them some to send out. That also makes me happy, it may not be much but I feel like I'm helping them in some way. I'm going to send them some old dvd's too because they asked for some to watch. I'm going to write them a note and pack it all up tonight so that my Grandma can take it to the post office for me tomorrow. I have to remember to make sure that the address is still there though. Troops get moved around a lot, and some are lost D:, so you have to make sure that the troop you picked is still there to receive the package.
I told my fiance last night that I don't care where we go on our honeymoon. At this point I'm just looking forward to taking a trip with him, I just want to get away. I would prefer to go somewhere I've never been before but, at this point, even Ocean City would be fine with me. (Ocean City is a little beach in Maryland that used to be nice when I was a child, but has since kind of turned into a place where college kids go in the summer and it's not as nice as it used to be). Other than that, any place that is beachy and relaxing will work for me.
I got off work Thursday and checked the voicemails on my phone. I had a couple from my best friend Keri, so I called her. She informed me that a very good friend of mine (and her ex-boyfriend) died in a car accident that morning. He was drunk, and he veered off the road and hit a tree. Please pardon my french in the following sentence: I think I've had just about FUCKING ENOUGH of THIS SHIT. I CANT FUCKING TAKE ANYMORE. Enough venting for now... I've had a shit all summer so far and if I write anymore in this blog I'll just end up bitching some more.
Wow, it's been a while since I've had a chance to write in here.
Jason ended-up going to his friend's bachelor party. He went down that Saturday night and they went to a bar and hung out. He had fun, so that was good. He did notice that he has to stop drinking though. The next day his stumache bothers him and if he gets sick it's red. Jason only drinks beer, and wasn't eating anything red in color so we're worried it may be blood. I think he might have an ulcer, he's decided not to drink heavily anymore but I can't get him to go to the doctors for it because he says he's fine. It only happens when he drinks a lot so hopefully it's nothing serious.
Jason's older sister was down at their mom's the week before the bachelor party so she helped his mother send off the death certificates. While she was down there Jason and I puppy-sat for her. That was a task. They have two dogs, one is an elderly german shepard and the other is a shi-tzu puppy. The puppy has more energy than my fiance and I combined. Add that to the fact that he was scratching at the bedroom door all night almost every night (we don't know why, he's not usually allowed in there anyway) and you have two very tired people at the end of the week.
That Saturday morning I went through all the paperwork on Jason's dresser and found the premarital paper. I filled out my part and sat it where he would find it when he returned from the bachelor party. It's currently found it's way back to the top of his dresser, so I may have to nudge him a bit to get him to send it off soon.
Ed didn't make it. I couldn't get him to eat, and I tried numerous things. I spoke to the man at the pet store about it and he said that they had problems with a few in the store as well. He gave me half of what I spent on Ed back and I got some new fish. Fish seem to be better for me.
I've been attending the sculpting class at the gym every Monday now. It's getting easier and I've found that if I remember to eat a power bar beforehand I don't get dizzy anymore. I haven't lost any weight yet, but Jason and I both think that I'm starting to look slimmer, so that's progress at least. Jason says that since the sculpting class is building my muscle I probably wont notice much of a difference in my weight for a while because muscle weighs more than fat. I've also been eating a lot healthier and drinking lots of water. When I was at WalMart the other day I bought a set of five pound weights so I can use them when I'm home watching tv.
I've been trying to think of ways to save money on the wedding. One of the ideas I came up with was changing the favors to be handed out at the reception. One of the girls at work gave me a really cute idea. A friend of her's had gone to www.onlinecandywrappers.com to get candy bar wrappers for her baby shower. They're actually really cute and you can personalize them and put pictures on them. If I get those and the candy bars to put them in I've saved around $500. I figure I can also get the little bubble bottles and tie red or black ribbon around the tops.
I spoke with a flutist about playing at our ceremony. She said she'd do it for $150, which I thought was pretty good. I ran it past Jason and he didn't say anything against it, so I'll let it sink in for a while and ask him about it again when the wedding gets a bit closer. She also said that she's played at the church we're using before and they do allow you to play the Cannon in D so that takes another worry off my shoulders.
I also called and set up an appointment in August for our engagement photos to be taken. The prices aren't bad, they're $40 for an 8x10, 2 5x7's, and a few wallets.
Other than that, not much is going on. We went to a picnic for the 4th at his aunt's house and are going to antietam battlefield to see the fireworks this Saturday. My new job is going great, I really feel happier now.
So, these past couple of weeks have been all about picking up the pieces and getting on with life. Jason and I went down to his mother's house last weekend and he mowed the yard for her and answered a couple of questions she had about the finances. We aren't going down this weekend, and he's not sure about the weekend after because he has to decide wether he wants to go to his friend's bachelor party or go down to his Mom's. I personally hope that we go down to his Mom's because the death certificates should be in by then and I think she's going to need his help getting them sent off.
Wedding wise not a lot is going on. The wedding specialist at Holly Hills is supposed to let me know when a good time to bring Jason in to see the set up would be. I remembered Monday that we haven't sent off the paperwork for the premarital classes the church wants us to take yet so Jason's supposed to be tracking down the paper and sending it out. I'll have to remember to ask him about it tonight.
Ed's still hanging in there. The girl I spoke with at the pet store said that I had everything set up right for him. He's still not eating though. I got him some smaller crickets and put some powdered vitamins on them so hopefully that will help. The girl at the petstore said he may be too cold so I think I'm going to look into getting him a heat lamp with higher wattage than what I have now. Until then I'm keeping my space heater by his cage and putting it on the low setting.
I tried to go to a sculpting class at the gym on Monday night. I must not be in as good shape as I thought it was because I didn't even make it through half the class. I started seeing black spots and feeling faint so I figured I'd had enough for the day. Jason says I probably didn't eat enough that day to make up for the calories I was burning off. My arms and legs still hurt, but I think I'm going to try again next week.
